Amanda McConchie, founder of The Business of Influence is an award-winning communications specialist with a decade of experience within the media and public relations industries.

Beginning her career as a lifestyle journalist for Fairfax Media, Amanda eventually jumped ship to public relations under the mentorship of New Zealand’s most influential and experienced PR mavens. Amid this time, she successfully provided PR counsel and developed strategic campaigns for beauty giant, L’Oréal and the golden child of Kiwi start-ups; My Food Bag.

Having worked closely with influencers on behalf of clients, the idea of The Business of Influence transpired in 2017 to ensure an influencer’s reputation, profile and business is managed along with their work that is created and executed. With the digital media industry still in its infancy, Amanda aims to educate and equip clients with the knowledge, skills, tools and guidance needed to kick-start a profitable career.

Amanda was the 2016 recipient of Bauer Media Public Relations Rising Star Award; an accolade that commended Amanda on her strong relationships with media. These relationships saw her maximising brand visibility and amplifying consumer engagement for her clients across various platforms.
